I'm not very good with movie lines but one of my all time favorite movies is "Dirty Dancing". I love when Patrick Swayze walks into the program and says, "No one messes with my baby". And, then the all time greatest scene where they dance and at the end he sings to her. Love it!!

That's so hard. I will remember movie lines when something in a conversation triggers it, but I can't seem to come up with any off the top of my head.

The only one that's coming to mind is in Notting Hill when Julia Roberts find out that Hugh Grant's nickname was Floppy and he says "It's the hair, it's to do with the hair." I always laugh at that one.

"Toto, I've got a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore." We've been saying that a lot in my house since we just moved here to GA from KS!

Hi Heidi! I love those stamps from Rhonna Farrer. I haven't been able to find the Flourishes anywhere. I don't really have a great memory of movie lines. My boyfriend is much better at that. I think the most frequent used around our place are from "Lilo & Stitch" because that was the favorite move of my boyfriend's daughter for a long time, so they've seen it hundreds of times.

So happy to have discovered your blog (and your awesome blog candy)! One of my favorite movies full-o-quotes is "16 Candles" and I just love "The Donger needs food." Then there's the eternal favorite "Nobody puts Baby in a corner" from "Dirty Dancing".

Hey there Heidi!
I read your blog daily...ok more like 2 or 3 times daily!
One of my favorites is from the movie Steel Magnolias. It's in the scene where Weezer is trying to convince the ladies that she is religious and says, "I'm religious! Hell, when I was in college, a bunch of my friends and I dressed up as nuns and went barhopping"! Love it.

WOW, Great candy! I read your blog from my Google Reader whenever you have a new post, Love it!
Hmmm, I quote a lot of movies, but one of my Favorites is from Monty Python and the Holy Grail..."Go away, or I shall taunt you a second time!!" (Have to see it to understand)

Hi Hidie...great blog candy. someone mentioned Monty Pithon..."We are the Knights that say ickie, ickie, bickie!" and "Have at you!"
But you have to LOVE monty pithon to know those.

Nepoleon Dynamite has some GREAT lines too. "Go make yourself a dang case-a-dilla!" "Garsh!!!" and "I bet you can take it [the bike] off some sweet jumps"

tee hee hee...it is fun to see what other great quotes are out there.

I never remember movie lines, but one that my bf and I have been saying to each other lately is "It's not a tumor" - but only in an Arnold voice (from Kindergarten Cop). We each have back issues and don't know the cause so we say that line to each other in our best impression voice.

Allison Rankin said...

OK...random generator picks #17! Ha! Heidi you have all my faves here! The line I always remember (and have blathered about all over blog-o-land) is by Clariee from Steel Magnolias: If you can't find anything good to say about anybody, come sit by me.

Ana Wohlfahrt said...

Heidi this is way to YUMMY!! Lets see a movie line...I love the Jerry Maguire line when Rene Z. says to Tom "you had me at hello" so sweet and romantic. I know cheesy but it got to me. A funny one is from Dodge Ball when Ben Stiller says after getting hit,"no one makes me bleed my own blood" I thought that was hilarious. He is to funny.

Great Blog Candy! Well I love the movie, "The Jerk" with Steve Martin. Our new phonebook arrived recently so I've been saying, "The phonebooks are here, I'm SOMEBODY, the phonebooks are here." I can't say that "The Wizard of Oz" is my favorite movie, but it does contain one of my favorite movie lines by Dorothy spoken to the scarecrow: "What would you do with a brain if you had one?" I have thought that to myself on numerous occasions about some less-than-intelligent people I run into!

GREAT QUESTION!!! There are sooooo many! Of course, my all time fav...
"Nobody puts baby in a corner" from Dirty Dancing.
Maybe that should be stupidest line from a movie!!! Oh well, he's cute, he can say anything he wants! Also, my kids and I go around saying
"Run, Forrest, run" alot. From Forrest Gump, of course.
Also, my friends and I quote lines from "Airplane" alot. Those are classics. "...and don't call me Shirley." Guess you had to be there! lol

I love your blog! When I got your link from the PCMB and saw all your beautiful work I had to add you to my favorites! The line that I like is from "O Brother where art thou..." and you have to have a worped sense of humor to appreciate it. My DH and I say this all the time to each other for no good reason other than to laugh..."Do not seek the treasure"

I'm also a big Clint Eatwood fan. Here are a couple of my favorites:

These just to name a few. I told you...worped!

Okay my little girl Sarah won't eat, unless we get on to her to eat. So, I feel like everytime we are out to eat with friends or anyone who doesn't know her too well, that I have to explain. "Sarah would rather drink milk (or anything) than eat." I usually throw that line in there at the end of my explanation!! So here comes a line from one of my all time favorite movies. I watch it over and over every Christmas!!
----"Every family has a kid who won't eat."-----

A Christmas Story (1983) CLASSIC

Wow - what fantastic candy!

I watch movies all the time, so this really shouldn't be difficult, but I'm drawing a total blank! My 2-yr. old runs around saying "Hakuna Matatta" (I have no idea if that's spelled right!) from "The Lion King" all the time.
And my hubby's favorite move is "Red Dawn" and he always shouts out the line, "Avenge me!"
Ooo- I just thougt of one that cracks me up. In "Night at the Museum" the statue says, "Your name is Dum-Dum, now bring me some gum-gum." That just tickles me for some reason!

At the end of the day faith is a funny thing. It turns up when you don't really expect it. It's like one day you realize that the fairy tale may be slightly different than you dreamed. The castle, well, it may not be a castle. And it's not so important happy ever after, just that its happy right now. I love romantic comedies and one of my faves is Notting Hil, where Julia Roberts says to Hugh Grant "I'm just a girl, looking at a boy and asking him to love her." SIGH!!

I'm also an 80's girl and one of my fave movies from my years as a teenager is The Breakfast Club. So he says to him sarcastically, "Did your mom marry Mr. Rogers?" and he says "No. Mr. Johnson..." Hahaha!!

Another one that hubby and I use all the time is the "Meow" skit from Super Troopers. "Wanna get something to eat Meow?"

If you ask hubby what he'd like to drink he'll often answer, "Gimme a liter of cola." Also courtesy of Super Troopers. :D

Thanks!

Hi Heidi. One of my fav movie lines is "if I only had a brain" from my all time fav movie 'The Wizard Of Oz'. Best of luck in the idol contest. You go girl!!!

I can't think of a good movie line that hasn't already been mentioned (I don't watch a lot of movies), but I love your blog.

Now that's some Yummy candy!! I wish a store around here would carry clear stamps. I think I need to have a talk with some craft store managers. LOL.
I am not a movie line person...that would be my sister.

Ok, so it's not a great movie, but my husband and I caught this part of White Men Can't Jump w/ Woody Harrelson recently -- the dialogue between him & Rosie Perez where they she's talking about wanting a glass of water, but not really wanting him to get her a glass of water . . . ah . . . I guess it's one of those you just have to experience.
