A little of this, a little of that

Okay, first off I want to address the winners from my Monday blog candy. The winners are YM, Allison, Stephanie, and Cindy Keery. However, for some reason my computer won't let me access your emails. So, I need all of you to respond to this post with your email in the post (or you can privately email me) so I can get in touch with you for your snail mail address.

This is the card I made for my sweet Ava. She is turning 3 tomorrow and she adores this stamp! I know it's a little wild but I think she'll like the flowers. Both my daughters asked me to stamp this image out several times so they could color it and make their own cards with her!

  • Me and My Big Ideas paper
  • Cakeabella stamp (www.stampingbella.com)
  • Pumpkin Pie CS (SU)
  • ribbon
  • pop dots
  • rhinestones
I got to place a SU order about 3 days ago and I am sooo excited to get it! It should be here by Monday (but hopefully Saturday!) and I plan on being a hermit all next week! I ended up getting 4 SAB sets out of it and couldn't be more thrilled! Hopefully I'll create some real masterpieces! Or at the very least, a few simple cards! {smile}

On another note my sister found out she was going to have another baby girl! She was really expecting the doc to say boy but it was pink for sure! I can't wait! She is due at the end of July so I have a while to wait but I need to make her a congrats it's a girl card soon. Girls tend to be spoiled in our family. Who am I kidding? The boys are spoiled too! They all get lovin' and attention from all of us Aunts. So basically when they are mad at their moms one of us can come to the rescue! I guess that's what we're here for! God bless all of you out there who are awesome Aunts to your nieces and nephews! Keep up the good work! (by the way, I know that's corny!)

'Celebrate' with a little blog candy!

Alright, so I've gotten over 1000 hits and I want to 'celebrate' a little! The first 4 people that leave a comment will each get 2 yards of white 3/8 inch grosgrain ribbon.

I want to thank everyone for all of the support and comments and hopefully they keep coming 'cause I love doing this!

Now for the card details:

  • Almost Amethyst and Mellow Moss ink
  • Lexicon of Love stamp set (SU)
  • Cuttlebug Stylized Flowers embossing folder
  • blender pen
  • ribbon
  • scallop edge scissors
I love making cards with this stamp because it is so generalized. I can use this card for a birthday, anniversary, wedding, or even a pregnancy! I'll tuck this one away for those times when you need to grab one and go!

Cork Board

  • 6x6 magnetic cork board
  • Rhonna Farrer Flourish stamps
  • snap stamps (live, laugh, love)
  • Souffle pens
  • rhinestones
This is one of the magnetic cord boards I picked up at Meijer yesterday. There were lots of things I wanted to add to it to make it 3D but then I realized the purpose of a cork board is to post notes you need. If I embellished it the way I really wanted to, there would have been no room for notes!

I ended up using the Souffle pens on this too. When I first heard about them, I just wanted the white. I didn't need any other color. But the only place I found them individually was online where I would have to pay shipping for one pen. By that time I figured I might as well buy the whole pack. I'm really glad I did! The funny thing is, I haven't even used the white yet! {he he he}

I don't know if I am going to give it away or keep it for myself. If you'd see the rest of my fridge, you'd see how badly I DON'T need it there!

So, anyone going to watch the Academy Awards tonight? I plan on it but really only because I want to see who made the fashion do's and don't and because Ellen is hosting. She is just way too funny! I try to catch her show when I can but normally there are cartoons dominating that hour! If you're gonna watch, enjoy your night and stay warm! I hear there is snow-a-comin'!

Yummy Souffle!

I had a very sacred evening tonight! I got to go to the grocery store (Meijer) ALL BY MYSELF! Oh my goodness, it was almost magical. No babies wanting held, no little girls whining they're hungry, no having to go down the same isle 3 times because you couldn't concentrate on what you were trying to do. Ahhhh, sweet release.

Anyway, I thought I would browse around for a while in the craft and school supply section to see if they had any super big paper clips everyone keeps making. Didn't find anything like that but I did find a pack of Souffle pens for $12.99! Everywhere else they have been around $19.99, which I think is a little steep. I checked to make sure they had them in the right spot, and they did. I even watched to make sure they rang up right, and they did. Meijer, of all places! Now I can't wait to use them! I also got these 6"x6" cork magnets that were on clearance for a buck. I have a few ideas for them, and the souffle pens will come in handy for that!

On another note, I ordered 1/8 inch snap stamps from Anna Wight's Ebay store (I put a link in yesterday's post) on Thursday afternoon and I got them in the mail today! From Texas! Not Priority! Is that awesome or what!?!?!

I also got a few stamps that I ordered from Eat Cake Graphics today. I mounted them on the cling foam but have only got to stamp out one. I got the little girl looking at the sun rising and a little bunny holding an egg. They are super cute!

I did make a card today but I can't show it yet cause it's a surprise for a certain someone!!!

Well, I might be back later with another card, or maybe not {giggle}. I may be too tired by the time I get the kids in bed and the rest of the groceries put away. Have a happy Sunday!!

My first Cakeabella!

I really like how the colors ended up with this one! And the rhinestones are a personal fave of mine! I used a blender pen and ink pads to color her in. She is also on watercolor paper to make coloring her run smoother. Thanks for looking!

  • Cakeabella stamp (http://www2.blogger.com/www.stampingbella.com)
  • Paisley Rockz stamp set (TAC)
  • Tempting Turquoise, Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, and watercolor paper
  • rhinestones
  • pop dots
  • scallop edge scissors
  • push pin for piercing paper
P.S. I'm waiting for my 1/8 snap stamps to get here before I put a sentiment on the front. If you don't have any yet you should get them from Anna Wights Ebay store!

Beautiful Girl

Let's start the day off with a card! I made this one with my sister Angel in mind. She is 'dating' again after a divorce and I just want her to always know just how beautiful she is inside and out. She is a trip and we have a great time together!

  • GardenBella (www.stampingbella.com)
  • Diva Dresses (beautiful girl, TAC)
  • Cool Cat (flowers, SU)
  • Bashful Blue, Mellow Moss, and watercolor paper
  • Mellow Moss, Bashful Blue, Cool Caribbean, Positively Pink, Close to Cocoa ink
  • blender pen
  • gray marker
  • white gel pen (for her teeth) *idea from Cindy over at Starlitstudios*
  • ribbon
  • pop dots
I would have used Mellow Moss ribbon, had I had some that actually matched. I have a very similar green but it wasn't close enough for me. I need to dye some with my re-inkers.

I talked to my momma this morning and she was talking about how she is ready for it to warm up already! I feel the same way but tend to get less stamping done in the spring/summer because we are outside a lot. We are also going to join an area homeschool group which I'm sure we will be very active in.

So, when is the best stamping season for you? Are you a fire side stamper or an air conditioned stamper?

I just can't get enough of them! The flowers are my fave part of the set but the words are awesome too! They are the perfect size and I am lovin' the font! Go order them right now!

A few days ago when it was really foggy for most of the day here we had our regulars (the deer that are always around our house) walk through our yard. Clinton was screaming and laughing! H kept saying "easy, easy" like he wanted to pet them. It was so cute. Anyway, here are some pics of them.

Uh-Oh, Naughty Dream

Okay, usually my dreams are way over the line of weird. This time they crossed the naughty line. Alright, not THAT naughty so don't expect a torrid love affair with Fabio (eww, by the way).

So in my dream I am hanging out with a group of people sitting on a bed (please don't ask cause I have no clue). My habby is laying down beside me and I am sitting up chatting with, get this, *Chris Daughtry*.

-Sidenote: For those of you who don't know me I am a HUGE Chris Daughtry fan. If you don't know who he is you should be drug out into the street and shot (old school Garfield, you guys remember?).

Okay, so back to me and Chris. We were just chatting away and my hubby falls asleep so I look over at him and say "wake up!" He just keeps sleeping so I turn back to Chris and he grabs me and kisses me big time.

This is where I prove such a freakin' spectacular wife I am!

I pull away from CHRIS DAUGHTRY IN MY DREAMS!!!!!!! And then I say, "I can't do this, I love my husband."

Oh how sweet it is to be loved by me Joe!

Alright, I had to get that out! We can move on now.

I started this card last night but I got it finished up this morning. I think this is the first time I have actually made a card with Best Blossoms. I played around with it a lot but never really got much use out of it. I do like this card though so I think I know how to use it now.

  • Almost Amethyst, Chocolate Chip, and white CS
  • Al. Amethyst, Ch. Chip, Mellow Moss ink
  • Best Blossoms stamp set (SU)
  • Noteworthy stamp set (SU)
  • Sonlight Impressions floral BG (hard to see)
  • pop dots
  • sponge
  • tac or push pin for piercing holes
I am all excited about the replies for my blog candy! You guys are awesome! If you keep complimenting me I won't be able to fit my head through my door. {insert cheesey grin} But please, don't let me stop you!

I will draw at noon today, so don't forget to check back! See ya then!

A little Blog Candy!

Woo-Hoo! This is my first time so be gentle.

It's definitely not the biggest Blog Candy ever but hey, it's still free to ya'll and that's the moral of the story, right?

There it is! 3 small rolls of American Crafts ribbon. There are 6 feet on each spool and boy do I love this brand of ribbon! They have so many colors and patterns that I can stand there for hours trying to decide which ones to get. Or I could just buy them all!

All you have to do is leave a comment on this entry and tell me how absolutely fabulous I am!! Completely teasing! Just leave a comment and at noon tomorrow I will randomly draw a name and post it on here tomorrow along with sending you an email (don't forget to leave your addy). Good luck and see ya then!

Good morning! Hope everyone had a pleasant Saturday! After Joe got home from class yesterday we got ready and went to his cousin's wedding. We almost weren't able to go due to the weather, but we managed! It was nice to see her so happy! Her new hubby sang a song for her that he wrote! It was very sweet.

Once the song was over, I hit Joe on the arm and said "why don't you do stuff like that for me!?" He waited for my wink that I usually give him after saying things like that. And he got it. He knows I love him!

I have been hearing all this talk about the Fabriano notcards that JulieHRR got a few SCSers hooked on and they are very beautiful, until I saw the price. I think it was like $12 for 20 or so. That's a little too out of my price range. But I did like the soft look instead of the stark white paper that I tend to pull out so I tried using watercolor paper to soften. I think it turned out nicely! It will definitely work for me!

  • watercolor paper
  • Eggplant Envy ink pad (no, I still haven't switched over!)
  • Mellow Moss ink pad
  • Fanciful Flowers stamp set (TAC)
  • square background stamp
  • purple sheer ribbon
I stamped the square in Mellow Moss and stamped off for a lighter look. When I stamped the flowers I spritzed with water before stamping. Thanks for looking!

Check in tomorrow for BLOG CANDY!!

Birthday gift

I am so excited to share what I made for my niece's birthday! I received my chipboard coasters yesterday from princess4101 on SCS (Thanks so much!!) and immediately wanted to make something with them. After trying to think of someone I could make something for I had an idea to make a name wall hanging for my niece Page! It took me a few hours but most of that was staring at my materials. You all know how that is! In the end I really love it! I'll definitely be making more of these. I hope she loves it!

  • My Minds Eye paper
  • JoAnn craft essentials chipboard alphas
  • bookplates
  • brads
  • ribbon
  • flowers from a stem
  • rhinestones
  • acrylic paint

I also made a quickie card for my hubby's grandmother's birthday. It doesn't get much simpler than this!

  • light brown (kraft) paper
  • Deco Designs stamp set (TAC)
  • Curvy Verses stamp set (SU)
  • ribbon
  • white Prismacolor pencil
I have to re-make a wedding card today so I better get the house picked up before I start on that one! See ya later gators!

Blinkie Madness

I came across a site that was full of blinkies so I decided to check more out. I found a few that I liked but I'm only going to post them on here. You should see if there are any 'meant for you'! Blinkies came from
