We've got chemistry!

Ann Marie requested that I make a card with the little scientist guy as soon as I could and I was scared to see what she would do to me if I didn't get to it ASAP! {wink} I also decided to combine it with Amy Westerman's Sunday Sketch Challenge. It was only after I had finished it that I realized I was supposed to use scallops. Oops! I do like how it turned out though!

  • Scientist (unknown kids stamps)
  • Karen Foster 1/8 inch snap stamps
  • DCWV paper
  • Mega scallop square punch
  • word window punch
  • re-inkers, aqua painters, ribbon, pop dots
I know this is my 3rd post for today but I just can't stay away from you guys! And there could me a small chance of it being lack of social life too. But mostly I just love you!

Voting has started

They had a few kinks at first but now everything is working fine! You can only vote once and here is the direct link. Thanks so much guys!!!

Holding my breath till Friday!

I submitted my Thank you card this morning for the next round for Paper Crafts Gallery Idol contest. I did a few others first but decided I was making myself way to nervous so I burnt a CD with some of my fave 'relaxing' songs on it to listen to. It consisted of a lot of Counting Crows (Raining in Baltimore is one of my all time fave songs) with some of The Fray and Timberland's new song featuring JT and Nelly Furtado. I know that really doesn't fit in with the others but I have to jam a little right? Once I relaxed and told myself to just let it flow, it did. This is what I came up with.

  • BasicGrey Lilly Kate paper
  • Hampton Arts Clear Expressions stamp
  • Marvy Mega Scalloped Oval punch
  • Chocolate Chip classic ink
  • stickles, ribbon, and pop dots
I cut out several of those little flowers and popped them up for some dimension and added stickles for shine! The final size is 8 x 4 1/2. I am completely happy with it and that's all that matters!!!

Voting starts at 2:00 EST today and ends on Thursday. So, if you like my card please take a minute to send a vote my way! Here is the link to this round. I'll provide a direct link to voting once they post the info!

*****
On another note I might get 10,000 hits today!!!! And you all know what that means!!!! Blog Yummies!! It might take me a few days to get everything ready though. How about this. I'll wait till Friday to post the candy and if I make it to the top 15 because of all of you out there who love me, I'll add in something EXTRA SPECIAL! So, go vote peeps!!!!

Miss Shoe

This is one of the cards I made to send to Dawn for the troops. I didn't have a high heel shoe stamp and I thought that this might be a little more 'manly' anyway. I would have loved to use combat boots but was fresh out of those too! {wink}

This stamp is actually one of many that I found while cleaning out totes on my 'spring cleaning' kick. There were a whole bunch that my daughter had gotten at a yard sale for a few dollars.

Here are the stamps I'm talking about. They are the 'old school' kids stamps so all I had to do was just trim around them and then I bagged them up so I could find them easy. Most of them I will use kind of like the Very Punny set. I am excited to use that scientist guy on a little card and have it say 'We've got Chemistry!' I know it's corny but I like it!

*****
Thank you everyone for all of the congrats on the Gallery Idol! I asked my family to pray for me so I could clear my head and come up with a card that I really like and am satisfied with whether I make it to the next stage or not. I'd love if you guys could do the same!!!

Here are the details to the contest you might want to know:

*Voting for the next round begins on Monday at Noon (MST) does anyone know the EST for that?

*Voting ends on Thursday at Noon (MST)

*You can only vote ONCE!

*The top 15 will be announced on Friday.

I would love for all of you to vote for me but I want you to vote for the card you like best. If it's not my card then don't vote for me. Even though I would REALLY appreciate it! But I want you to choose the one you really like. Although we are pretty tight, right? Do what you feel you should.

Just kidding! Really though, vote for the best card. I would hate to be a Sanjaya!

Biggest news EVER!!!!!

I am still on complete shock right now but I got an email saying....get this...

I am in the Paper Crafts Gallery Idol top 20!!!!!!!

I cannot believe this! I got an email (which went to my bulk folder) saying 'Congrats to all of you who made the top 20....and so on' but it didn't have names on it of who won. I got those butterflies in my stomach and read the title again. I figured it was just an email sent to everyone on the mailing list (which I just joined) so I decided to check out the web site.

There is was. My card. My simple scrap card that I probably would have never normally entered. My card was in the top 20 chosen from 1100 entries. I can't believe this is happening!
I'll be back with more later but right now I have a few calls to make. Now that I am done screaming and jumping up and down that is!

Here is the link.

More felt and thanks

First of all, I want to say thanks to those of you who quickly offered to help me with my Bella dilemma! It's so nice to have friends! I really appreciate all of you guys!

*****
I played around with some more felt. This is one of those 'it looks great in my head' cards that doesn't turn out quite like I wanted. I think it might be that the felt is too bright. I can't decide. I picked up this Rhonna Farrer Swirls set at Wal-Mart for less than $9. I'm really really liking have more 'swirly' options. I have the Flourishes set but it's a nice compliment to this one.

  • Swirls (Rhonna Rarrer)
  • Hello (JoAnn's $1 set)
  • Cuttlebug Asterics die
  • Certainly Celery, white CS
  • Marvy Giga scallop circle
  • Versamagic Aloe Vera chalk ink
  • felt, rhinestone, ribbon, pop dots, push pin

With this one I wanted to imitate the look of the American Crafts rub ons. I'm kind of on the fence about this card too. I should have stamped the images higher on the card. Oh well, can't make everything perfect can we?

  • Happy Harmony, Small Script stamp sets (SU)
  • Chocolate Chip, Tempting Turquoise dye ink
  • aqua painter
  • ribbon
*****
I wanted to mention that if you have made any cards for the troops from Dawn's site you need to get them sent out so they get to her in time!

Ahoy Matey, and a request

It's kind of hard to see the boat on this card. I stamped it in Versamark and then stamped 'ahoy, matey' with black on top of it. I hand cut the waves but thought they needed a little something more so I added some glitter glue to them.

  • Ahoy Matey stamp set
  • Cool Caribbean, Tempting Turquoise, white CS
  • re-inkers
  • aqua painters
  • Stazon black dye, Versamark inks
  • edge distresser, glitter glue, pop dots
*****
Okay, now for the request! I need some Bella images! Badly! I have a few sentiment stamps that would go so well with Grumpabella! So, here is my proposition. I would like these images...
*Beachabella
*Cosmobella
*Diplomabella
*Grumpabella
*Javabellas
*Pmsabella
*Staceyfishabella
*Tinkerbella

I know, I know, that's a lot of Bellas! But this is what I could offer in return.
*Marvy Giga scallop circle pieces
*Marvy Mega scallop circle pieces
*Marvy Mega scallop oval pieces
*Marvy Mega scallop square pieces
*Gardenbella
*Cakeabella
*Lots of other sets!

For each image I will punch one scallop piece in whatever color you want (as long as I have that color). I need a whole sheet of each of the Bellas. Can ya help a buddy out? {insert puppy dog eyes} Either leave a message on this post or email me. Thank you ladies!!!

Lookie what I got!

I had to go take movies back to Blockbuster yesterday (such a good excuse to go to Hobby Lobby across the street!) and wanted to go and find some felt. Well, I found some felt! Now I just need to find out if any of it will cut with my Cuttlebug dies! I think some pieces might be a little too thick. I'll just have to cut those out by hand.

I found some paper in HL but was proud of myself for the level of resistance I had with the paper. Putting me in an isle full of paper is like handing a beer to an alcoholic. It's soooooo hard not to want it! But, I made it through that store with only some felt and a few sheets of paper. Oh, and I bought a card pack and some stickers for my niece. Her birthday is this week and I wanted to send her a little gift. Before I packaged it up I also threw in some ribbon, brads, stamped images, and some scallop punches. I think she'll be happy!

Now, onto Target. It is becoming more difficult to not spend forever in their scrapbook isle! Look, look, pretty colors! {drool} Anyway, I got a $5 gift card the other day for buying batteries so I knew exactly where I wanted to use it. I ended up getting blue Primas because Jolee said blue was my favorite color. True, very true.

Next was JoAnn's. I finally found some clear sets that everyone was talking about!!! I got 6 different ones and a few of the ink pads. Word of Caution *DON"T GET THE LITTLE INK PADS* Waste of money with a capital W! Which means I probably send them to my nieces. {grin} Oh well, we live and we learn huh? I also got a few of the other regular $1 stamps, more felt, and glitter glue (they had no stickles). All in all, I spent less than $20.

So, here is my $20 card. {giggle}

  • JoAnn's clear $1 stamp sets
  • Stazon black ink, Certainly Celery ink
  • blue Primas
  • white brads
I think I have been on a super simple kick lately. I actually really like it though! I think I might keep it up for a while.

*****
I wanted to show you an awesome tutorial from Jen Carter. I have the scallop punches but I'm even gonna try this one! Check it out! I really like the look!

Hope you all have a fantabulous day! It's rainy and yucky here but I'm gonna make the most of it!

Playing around with felt

I never thought I would be able to use felt in such a cute way! I am loving seeing what everyone is doing with it! It inspired me to run it through my Sizzix with the Cuttlebug Asteriks die. I did find out though that not all felt will work with the cuttlebug dies. This felt was pretty thin and somewhat stiff. It did work great though! I like the red flowers but wish I had another color on hand to work with. I'll pick some more colors up when I am out next.

  • Happy Everything (SU), Flourishes (Rhonna Farrer) stamp sets
  • Aloe Vera Versamagic chalk ink, Real Red classic ink
  • Cuttlebug Asteriks die
  • red felt
  • rhinestones

Now this card came out of absolutely nowhere. I threw it together in about 10 minutes. I like how it turned out though. Nothing too bold. I thought about using ribbon where the paper piercing is but thought that might make it over done. I did pop another dress up on top of the one underneath that I had already colored.

  • Diva Dresses (TAC), Paper Tray (PaperTrey) stamp sets
  • Regal Rose re-inker
  • Black Stazon ink
  • push pin, rhinestones, pop dots
*****
Allison tagged me to tell 7 things about myself and then tag 7 people to do the same. So, here goes.

*I have never smoked a cigarette even though both of my parents were smokers (I think that's why!).

*When I get scared while watching a movie I wiggle my toes.

*If I ever came into some money, the first thing I would do is get my teeth fixed. They have never been straight.

*I am a cat person and grew up with all kinds of animals as a kid. However within the last 3 years have developed allergies to pet dander and pretty much sneeze my head off any time I get near any. That includes our Guinea Pig Franklin.

*I belch quite often. And usually quite loudly! But don't worry, I always say excuse me!

*I love to fish! Hubby is teaching me the in and outs of bass fishing though and hopefully we get to plan a day to go together.

*Lately my absolute favorite indulgence is Ferro Rocher chocolates!!! Good gracious they are yummy!

Alright, now I will tag the following....

Amy S.

Meli Mitchell

Amy Westerman

Jovi

Rose Ann

Stephanie

Julie Masse

Can't wait to hear what you ladies have to say!

I've been tagged!

Woo-Hoo! Jovita tagged me! I am in someones top 5 fave blogs to read! Go me! Go me! Now the hard part is choosing my top 5! This will be rough! I'm sure all of those that I will pick have already been tagged by someone so be prepared for repeats from other blogs.

Ana Wohlfahrt's Ink a Stamp

Amy Westerman's Heartfelt Greetings

Debbie Olson's Thinking Inking

Tracy Durcan's Durcan Designs

Kendra Giles' Inkin' it Up

There are so many more! I am thinking about picking one blog a week to feature. Maybe putting a permanent link on the side or something. Everyone is just getting better and better that I can't keep up with all of them!

*****
I know this card looks familiar! I made one just like it for Amy's scrap paper challenge last Saturday. I also liked it enough to re-make it and submit it to the Paper Crafts Gallery Idol contest. Still used scrap paper so I guess it works for todays challenge on her site too!

You had to make a hello card for the contest (the other one said 'smile') so I just changed the colors and sentiment but everything else is the same.

  • MME patterned paper
  • Pumpkin Pie CS and dye ink
  • Delight in Life (SU), Paper Tray (PaperTrey) stamp sets
  • Marvy Mega scalloped circle punch
  • Prismacolors and Gamsol, push pin, pop dots

I also had to make a sympathy card for a friend of my mother. I printed out the verse and just used my Mega scallop punch on it.

  • BasicGrey LillyKate patterned paper
  • Flourishes (Rhonna Farrer), Fanciful Flowers (TAC) stamp sets
  • Chocolate Chip dye ink
  • Marvy Mega scallop oval punch
  • brown velvet ribbon

Thank you to all of you who left a comment yesterday! It means so much to know that I can share those kinds of things with people I have never even met but get such a positive and wonderful response! God bless you all!

Rembering Dad

I just wanted to take a minute today to tell everyone a little bit about my dad. He passed away a year ago today. He had emphysema and CODP along with several other things that just eventually became too much for his body to handle. He was in and out of the hospital for about 5 years but the last year he was there more than at home.

I remember getting the call from my sister saying that he was so bad that they couldn't even get his blood pressure and that I should come down. I dropped what I was doing, got the kids in the car, and drove an hour to be with him. My sisters and I were there gathered around his bed at my sisters house holding his hands, his legs, feet, whatever we could (there are 7 of us).

Dad always loved it when we would sing even though only one of us can really carry a tune. So, for the last time, we all sang him his favorite song 'Dreamchaser'. It was a wonderful moment that I will never forget. We all kissed him goodbye and held onto eachother and just cried. We knew from then on our lives would be different.

Now my family and I are Christians and we know that my father is in heaven. We can get through things like this because we know. I could never imagine not having Jesus or my family to lean on. Even though I know this, it still hurts. It hurts less now, but the pain will always be there. But when I think of him, I don't think of a hospital bed with oxygen tubes in his nose, I think of playing 'Name that Tune' with my sisters and dad giving us a nickel or dime for getting an answer right. I remember going into his workshop and watching him build the most beautiful things I have ever seen. I remember him making me play Super Mario Brothers with him for hours on end. I remember him dancing with me at my wedding. I remember him holding my girls when they were just tiny babies. I remember all of the good times. Thank you Jesus for all of the good times I remember!

I'm not trying to make you guys cry or feel bad for me because I don't feel bad for me. I got 23 wonderful years with him! I was blessed every day he was in my life. And I do thank him now for all those times he said "No, but trust me, you'll thank me later!" Thanks dad! Just hold your family close. Don't wait for a reason to give your sister or brother a call. Send your mom or dad some flowers out of the blue. Just let everyone know how much you love them! Thank God for the blessings in your life! I do!

That is a picture of my dad when he was around 18 I think. He loved the guitar and he was so good at it! I have so many memories of him with that guitar!

I love you daddy!

I have been tagged by Jovi and I also have a few cards to share but I'll be back later for that!

Some cards and a giggle

Good morning! I hope everyone is having a lovely morning so far! If not, I have a joke to hopefully make you smile, and wonder what the world is coming to, all in the same breath!

A mother was reading a book about animals to her 3 year old daughter.

Mother: "What does the cow say?"

Child: "Moo!"

Mother: "Great! What does the cat say?"

Child: "Meow."

Mother: "Oh, you're so smart! What does the frog say?"

And this wide-eyed little 3 year-old looked up at her mother and in her deepest voice replied, "Bud."

*****
I did another Super Sunday Sketch challenge over at Amy Wetserman's blog. The friend panel and the top flower are popped up but you can't tell in the pic. I am really loving her challenges! I rarely ever do any of the SCS challenges so these are nice for me.

  • MME Magnolia line paper
  • Chocolate Chip CS
  • Delight in Life, Lexicon of Love stamp sets (SU)
  • scallop scissors
  • prismacolor pencils and gamsol
  • pop dots

I want to start doing a simple card along with any more detailed card that I do. That way I am getting two done at once and I don't feel I have spent a whole hour working on one card! This is what I came up with this morning. Card is 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 (my new favorite size). I tried to use the Love you Latte set a little differently. The 'steam' stamp almost reminds me of wings beside the hearts.

  • Love you Latte (SU), Hey there (TAC), stamp sets
  • Black Stazon, Pixie Pink die ink
  • pop dots

I have to go out and about today to pick some things up. The high is 62 degrees so today is a good day to do it. I just hope we don't have the wind we had yesterday, whew! It blew everything around in our yard and off our porch. Then again that's a pretty normal thing around here. We are in the middle of wind central! We are on a hill with only a few trees around. So in that case, I guess we're kind of asking for it!

I'm going to pick up some new sand for the kids' sandbox. Hopefully we won't keep having 40 degree weather anymore. The kids are just dying to go out and I feel bad to keep having to tell them no.

I don't think there are any other mind numbing things I have to say. Oh, we didn't win the lottery last night, so that was a bummer. Better luck next time, right?

Scrap paper card

I took a cue from Amy Westerman to use those scraps to make your cards. Granted, there aren't many scraps on here, but I would have to say that this is a card I probably would have never came up with if I hadn't looked at the scraps in my pile. The only thing that wasn't a scrap was the flower (it was even stamped, just not colored). I actually really enjoy this card! It was super quick and easy! Final size is 4 1/4 x 4 1/4. I am really liking the perfect square sizes lately!

  • MME patterned paper
  • DCWV cardstock
  • Delight in Life (SU), Smile (Hampton Art) stamps
  • Marvy Mega scallop circle
  • Prismacolors and gamsol
  • glitter glue, pop dots, push pin
*****
I'll be posting my sale/trade list a little bit later today. I'll also be doing some blog candy once I get 10,000 hits! Keep an eye out!

Simple kinda day

I wanted to do some quick and simple cards this morning before I started sorting through my stamping stuff. I am going to be getting rid of some things that I don't use any more. I plan to post a sale list sometime this weekend. I am also sending a lot of it to my nieces. They all think stamping is cool.

  • Deco Designs (TAC), Flourishes (Rhonna Farrer) stamp sets
  • white CS
  • Stazon jet black, Versamagic Aloe Vera ink
  • ribbon
I just have to say that Deco Designs is one of my all time favorite sets! I got the set expecting that I wouldn't use the birds in it but as soon as I got it I fell in love with them! I love every single stamp in the set!

  • MME Everyday Tango paper line
  • Earth Laughs (TAC), Blossoms Abound (SU) stamp sets
  • Marvy Mega scalloped square
  • Versamagic Pixie Dust ink
  • ribbon
  • corner rounder
This is the first time I have made a card with all of the corners rounded. I have always loved the look but didn't want to pay too much for a nice punch that would actually go through 3 sheets at a time. I got this one at HL half off for $3 I think. I works great!

*****
I have to give you the link to this video that a friend told me to check out. I absolutely LOVE Will Ferrel! Elf is one of my favorite movies! This is just too funny not to share! I do have to say that the rest of the clips on this website are a bit vulgar or just plain stupid so I wouldn't waste my time with anything else on the site. You cannot miss this one though! I almost cried!
Will Ferrel clip

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!!

Not what I had in mind

  • Delight in Life, Happy Harmony stamp sets (SU)
  • BasicGrey patterned paper
  • Tempting Turquoise CS
  • slit punch, prismacolor pencils, gamsol, ribbon, pop dots, sponge
This was one of those cards that looked completely different in my head. I had originally had the flowers from Happy Harmony stamped in my Mega circle scallop punch with the Giga one underneath but it just didn't look right with the rest of the card. I decided to do some flowers from Delight in Life instead and I like this look much better! I can't seem to get enough of using the slit punch for scallops!

*****
Grey's Anatomy is once again, not a new episode. Neither is Ugly Betty. I am getting tired of having nothing to watch on Thursday's lately. I used to watch Survivor every Thursday until last year when I just couldn't take the drama or the people anymore. I also would love to be able to watch The Office and My Name is Earl (we own the first season of that) but we can't get reception on channel 2 so that's a no go. Enjoy your evening for those of you looking forward to your Thursday TV!

Jumbo Paper Clip

I started this last night but had to wait for the Crystal Effects to dry. I should have used a glue gun, I get a little impatient! Oh well, somehow I made it through. I am going to send this along with the cards I made for my momma. She is the only person I know that tries to find time to read anymore! It's a rarity for me! I think I'll do another one today for a friend of my moms.

  • Jumbo paper clip (Target, pack of 5)
  • BasicGrey Lilly Kate paper
  • chipboard flowers (Joann's chipboard pack)
  • button, ribbon

I wanted to tell you guys about a new stamp company I just found. You might have heard the buzz on them from Kendra or Asela's blogs. They are Hambo stamps. Oh my goodness! They are so funny! They remind me a lot of River City Rubber Works when it comes to their hilarious sentiments but most of theirs are ones I have never heard before! They have Fractured Funnies which are basically like the innie and outie sentiments for your cards. I was literally laughing out loud reading these! A few of my faves...

Innie: "Fate made us family"
Outie: "Prozac made us friends"

Innie: "Friends like you don't come around often"
Outie: "Thank goodness for neighborhood watch!"

OMGoodness! Are those not the funniest things you've ever heard!?! What I love about it is they read the front thinking you are being all sweet and such. Open it up.....NOT! Too funny! You really need to check them out! I am hoping to be able to get a few this weekend, but we shall see.

Changed my banner again

I'm sure this will happen every once in a while. I like to change things up a bit. I'm always open to suggestions! Let me know if there is something I should change!

***Forgot to mention that everything (except the font) are free digi scrapbook kits from Shabby Princess! You NEED to check her out if you haven't already! She makes great papers!

Cards for Momma!

  • Stampabilites stamp
  • DCWV Pocket full of Posies mat stack
  • watercolor paper
  • Aqua painters, re-inkers, ribbon, flower brads, pop dots
I went ahead and made a set of 4 of these to send to my momma for her to give to her friends. She'll really like these I think. I colored them in while I was watching House last night. Is it just me or are you guys (those of you who watch) getting sick of Cameron? Last year I was all for House and Cameron getting together but lately she has become a bit of a hmmmm..... *tart* Now I am really wanting him and Cuddy to get together and have a baby. But then that would kind of end the show so maybe at the end of the series (which I hope isn't for a long time) they will finally put them together.

I also watched How I met your Mother on Monday night, thought the bridal shower scene was pretty funny. You can tell it's TV cause in real life you know you would've grabbed the present and ran!

You have to check this link if you want a smile!!!! Kittens always have a way of making things a little better!!!!

Oh, the weather outside is frightful

I have been getting a little tired of the white background for my cards. I think it's because it reminds me of snow, so for now I am on a white background boycott. Any other colors but that! Maybe it will make the yucky weather go away! Doubt it, but you can't say I didn't do my part!

This is the first time I have inked this stamp. I got it a while ago. Makes me laugh! I think I am going to make a set of these for my momma to send to her goofy girlfriends! Maybe I'll just make them up and send them to her with a note inside.

  • Stampabilities stamp
  • DCWV glitter paper
  • Aqua painters, re-inkers, ribbon, pop dots

I hope everyone's Easter was good! Mine was nice but I had a pounding sinus headache the whole time. I loved the food though! {grin} I went Easter on my side of the family (pretty much just my siblings and spouses with a few other people) in a track suit and no make-up. They knew I was feeling pretty bad when I showed up with no make-up on!!! I always at least put some foundation and mascara or something on. Nah, I kept blowing my nose and wiping my eyes cause they were watering, so it would have just been a waste.

I got to play with my sisters new Cannon Digital Rebel XTi. Oh my goodness! I have been wanting one but I actually got to play with hers yesterday. It is so awesome! After looking at the pictures I instantly wanted to scrapbook again. It's been almost 2 years since I have done a page. But it looked so perfect! The picture, not my last scrap page! {giggle} We are going to sit down and go over some things and hopefully be able to swing it. The basic camera is only around $700 but then you need to get a good lens (or at least we want to) and we also want an external flash which would bump us up to around $1000 or so. Oh, how I am green!!!!! She is so lucky!! She deserves it though. That's 'what she does'. She took my Senior pictures along with my best friends, cousins, and a few other people. She loves to do it and is really good at it. Until I married Joe I was her 'assistant'. Try and tell me what to do now April! Just go ahead! Nah, I'm still a little scared of her. She used to hold me down and make me eat grass when I was little. I still can't lay down in the grass without flashbacks. {Laughing my head off}

She is supposed to send me the pics I took with her camera later today so I might upload a few. Might? Who am I kidding? I will be back later with pics of my kids. {grin}

Marshallow Treats

I just wanted to share some of the marshmallow treats I made for our Easter get together. I used a whole block(6 oz) of the Baker's white chocolate block. It took about half of each of the colors of sprinkles to cover 5 marshmallows. I used the white chocolate so the colors would show up. Had I used milk chocolate they would have blended right in. I made a total of 30 and I should probably make more but I'm taking a few other things so I'm not gonna worry about it too much.

These are quick and easy of you ever need an idea to keep the kids (and adults) happy!

Easter cards done *check*

  • SEI patterned paper
  • Barely Banana, Positively Pink, Tempting Turquoise, and white CS
  • Flopsy's got an Egg stamp (ECG)
  • Karen Foster 1/8 inch snap stamps
  • Cuttlebug Swirls EF
  • Marvy Mega scallop oval punch
  • Word Window punch
  • Prismacolors and gamsol
  • ribbon, piercing tool, and pop dots
All the cards measure 4 1/4 x 4 1/4. I'm not one for repetition when it comes to cards but It's a little hard to finish them when this is what you see outside.....

Hey momma, I'm dwelling on the good and lovely, really, I am!

I also have to make some chocolate covered marshmallows tonight for our Kingery side Easter that we are having tomorrow. I love making these things! The kids love to eat them too, and even the adults! They are super easy to make and I'll post a pic later of the ones that I finish.

All you do is buy a bag of the big marshmallows, stick a small pretzel stick into the top, swish (yes, I know, such a fancy word) it around in the chocolate, and cover it with whatever you want. My favorites are the ones covered in toffee pieces! They are so yummy! I am sticking with white chocolate and Easter colored sprinkles this time around though! Fast and easy!

I also have other food to make but that stuff isn't nearly as fun!

I did, however, get all the kids' Easter basket stuff done this morning. We are going pretty minimal on it this year. Mostly just candy that Joe and I can steal and eat! {wink} A few other small things though like jump ropes for Ava and Jolee. They keep seeing the Jump In advertisement on Disney channel and new they try to jump rope with anything they think might be long enough. Most of it isn't, so I hope this cures that!

I guess I'll be back later to post pics of my marshmallows, that is unless they look ugly. Don't wait up for me! {wink}

It's freezing! No fair!

I can't believe how freezing cold it is outside! The temperature dropped 40 degrees from yesterday. I thought the weathermen might be wrong and it would end up being a warm front instead of a cold one......but no. As my momma always says "Dwell on the good and lovely." I'm gonna really really try!

I did Amy Westerman's sketch challenge! I am a regular to her blog and love it but this is the first time I have done one of her Super Sunday Sketch challenges. Yes, I realize it's not Sunday, but at least I did it, right?

  • MME Magnolia line patterned paper (yes, AGAIN)
  • Like it a Latte, Riveting stamp sets (SU)
  • Cuttlebug sliders die
  • Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink classic ink
  • Prismacolor pencils
  • ribbon, pop dots
Thanks for the challenge Amy! Now I need to get my booty busy on my Easter cards so I can hand them out this weekend. And I'm only saying hand them out because I could never make them and send them in the mail in time! Wish me luck!

My baby is 5!

Okay, I can't believe that my baby, my first born, my princess is 5! Yesterday was almost like a smack in the face! {smack} Hey mom, I'm, growing up! {smack} But {smack} you're {smack} my {smack} baby! {smack} Alright, I might have gone a tad overboard with the smacking thing but that's just the way it feels. And let me tell you she's 5 going on 15! Sometimes the attitude that comes out of her mouth is scary! Where did THAT come from!? I swear she didn't get it from me! {wink}

She does crack me up though too. A few days ago she had me laughing so hard I was crying! She and Joe were on the couch being silly with eachother and he said "Go get me a Tea". She gave me a weird look and a minute later she shows up with the magnetic letter 'T' from the fridge. Joe and I cracked up! It was so funny. So I called Ava over and said, "Could you go get daddy a tea please?" She goes and gets a bottle of tea out of the fridge and brings it in. Jolee then had a 'duh' moment and started laughing with us. I haven't laughed that hard in a while.

Here is the birthday card I made her. She, like Ava, loves the Bellas so I knew that's what I had to use for hers too.

  • Cakeabella stamp (stampingbella)
  • The Paper Studio patterned paper
  • Lavender Lace, DCWV pink, white paper
  • Cuttlebug Swirls EF
  • Prismacolors and Gamsol
  • scallop scissors, flowers, rhinestones

This is one I made a few days ago. I'm not too much of a 'scenery' stamper. I pretty much just like to stamp one or two images and leave it at that. I got this stamp from Eat Cake Graphics though (and it has me wanting more) and you kinda have to add to it. It doesn't have to stamped images that you add, but it does need something extra. I really enjoyed coloring it in and all but lesson #1 (and I know I am yelling when I say this) ALWAYS STAMP YOUR SENTIMENT BEFORE YOU COLOR AN ENTIRE IMAGE LIKE THIS!!!!!!!! It took me about 20-25 minutes to color this and get it just how I want and then I mess up the sentiment! It looks pretty bad but I'm hoping that the images will distract the viewer from how bad the words look! Let me know!!

I used a marker on the Happy Harmony stamp because I wanted to leave out the word 'big'. I thought it was too scripty and might not look right with the image. Looking back, I should have just left it. Instead though, I used an alphabet set from TAC to stamp 'big'.

  • Trust stamp (ECG), Happy Harmony (SU), Simple Alphabet (TAC)
  • Prismacolors and Gamsol
  • white cardstock
  • pop dots (I popped up the sun)
I hope everyone enjoys the weather today cause the rest of the week we have a chance of snow! At least in Ohio. Can you believe that??? High of 78 today but nothing higher than 40 degrees the rest of the week! It's madness I tell ya! So much for an outside Easter egg hunt!
