True Talent Tuesday

Oh boys and girls (or maybe just girls) do I have a good one for you today! This chick must have been dipped in the 'Bucket O' Talent' cause her work is awesome! And her name is........

{drumroll}

Sarah Bertolino

Suki's Blog

A.K.A

SCS name Sukisan

Here is what she has to say about herself!

Name:

Sarah Bertolino

State you live in:
Kansas

A little about yourself:
I've been married for 7 fabulously LUCKY years. I have two kiddos, a precocious little boy who is 4 1/2 and a beautiful little girl who's just about 2. Oh and I have two cats who don't get enough attention; one, Suki, is the namesake of my blog.

When and how you started stamping:
I was first introduced to paper crafting when a coworker made her own wedding invitations -- I loved this idea and did the same. This was about 8 years ago and my love of paper crafting has blossomed from there. Two highlights of my "adventures in paper" include a trip to Tokyo in 2000 (wow! I could've bought the whole city out of paper ... and I'm still hoarding what I did buy!!) and an introduction to Stampin' Up! in 2001 (or 02, maybe?) I really enjoyed stamping and having a creative outlet but didn't feel what SU had to offer at the time was my style. I continued to make my own invites, Christmas cards, friend's' wedding invitations, announcements, etc ... then 2 years ago, one of my best friends signed up (practically on a whim) as an SU demo and I saw what she was doing and was hooked myself. Last fall I signed up too (as a hobbyist) and in October my hubby built me a permanent craft space. I think having a dedicated craft area has been the NUMBER ONE thing to help my creativity and hobby truly flourish. Nothing stymies your "mojo" like the pack unpack and repack of Rubbermaid bins. I stopped being an "SU! only" gal early this year and have LOVED finding new stamps and toys to play around with. My wallet on the other hand ...

Your favorite item to use on a card:
Right now, I love using re-inkers and my blender pen. I am in love with water coloring. Right now I'm going through an "all A Muse, all the time" phase. I also love patterned paper ... there are some utterly addictive paper lines out there! (This time last year, if someone would've told me I'd be primarily water coloring and using heaps and heaps of patterned paper, I would've laughed.) I also can't live without stickles, my crop-a-dile and my clear acrylic making memories ruler.

Other hobbies you might have:
Does blogging count? Actually, I have been known to pick up the old knitting needles now and again. But no other hobby has stuck around with me like paper crafting has.

Who is your biggest crafting inspiration?:
Anna Wight for sheer water coloring (and photography) talent, Debbie Olson for layout, color sensibility and overall card design, Jennifer Pebbles for her A Muse cards, and Heather Nichols for her talent and originality with cards and her candid, amazing attitude about raising a child with special needs.

***
Isn't she great folks!?! This girl not only rocks SU stamps, but A Muse, AND Bellas! And if you have ever wondered how to use your glitter or stickles, wonder no longer cause she is the queen of sparkle! You need to run to her blog. Right now. Really, I'll wait. Shoo! Go!

Alright? Back now? You feel all tingly don't you? I knew you would! Her work is great! Here are some of my favorites that she has done. And trust me, it was way hard to choose only a handful!

*This is my all time fave! You all know how I love 'simple'!
