I am a Zombie right now. The kids are coughing and Clinton keeps waking up crying. I think on top of his cough he has an ear infection so I'll need to take him to the doc. So, I am going to keep this short and sweet.I got my new batch of Starving Artistamps rubber a few days ago so I have been having fun with those! Here are a few....
For this one I stamped the tree in Chestnut Roan and then took my pink Souffle pen and added the flower buds.
I know you all are dying to know how my weekend went!! Even if you weren't, I'm gonna tell you anyway! We had such a good time!!!!! I am really looking forward to going back in the future. Maybe by then we'll have friends, so we can go with other people {grin}. Anyway, we got there and went straight to the room and ordered room service. Wow! It was fantastic! That was some of the best Fettuccine Alfredo I've ever had! Then we went downstairs and lost some money on the Video Poker slots (I hate slots but agreed to play because at least I felt I had some control of the outcome). After that I played some Black Jack but lost on that too. So, by the end of the night I had lost about *don't freak* $200. However, the second day was way better for me!! I won $200 on the Video Poker slots and IMMEDIATELY walked away! Went over to the Roulette table cause Joe said "Go to the Roulette table." {now mind you he played live poker tables 90% of the time} So, I go to the Roulette table and play the same # over and over again until I lose $100. Yep, that stunk, so I walked around a while and decided to try again, only my way and not the way Joe said I should. I took my $60 I had left and wished on a star! It had went up to $10 minimum from $5 so I picked 5 numbers and put $2 on each, and won. Over and over again. I ended up cashing out at almost $300 I think. Then the next day I did Roulette again and played for about 3 hours and turned $100 into $500, however I lost about $160 before I cashed out. Gotta know when to quit I guess. My thoughts were, Joe will be playing poker for 4 hours so I might as well sit here and keep playing.
So, all in all I was $250 up from what I started with. Joe on the other hand, well, didn't do as well as I did. We had lots of fun though and that was the point of the weekend. Thanks for listening to me ramble!!

Okay, so if I am a bit skitzy please forgive me but Vicki from Queen Kat Designs JUST emailed me and asked if I could fill in for a sick DT member (feel better Pooka) for the last leg of their blog party that has been going on for a month now. Last week I got a package from Tracey at Starving Artistamps that has different Red Castle images inside along with textured paper and new Prima mulberry flowers. I was pretty excited to say the least and this was one of the first of 6 so far that I have done. The bird is from the Canary sheet. I did an article on the Stacy and Friends: 40 Techniques for Card Making for Craft Critique and I had forgotten (and always seem to forget) about the bleach technique. So, that's what I did with this one. Hope you like it!!!
Okay, so don't ask why I chose that title for today's post. I guess I'm just in a goofy mood. Plus, I haven't eaten yet so I could be a bit delirious.
Since all of the Smart Cookies (smARTworks DT members) have all taken a turn with the sketches, we decided to change things up a bit this time around. It will be kind of a free for all for who ever's week it is. This week Dina from Mama Dini's Stamperia challenged us to do a Matchbook card. This was a first for me. I think all of the different card shapes are neat but I never seem to actually try them. I am so glad I did though! I really love how this turned out! Thanks for the kick in the pants Dina!
First off, I want to say thanks to all of those who have left comments to far!! It's great to hear about the designs to wanna see out there!!
Secondly, only 3 more days till my mini vacay!!! Yay me!
Thirdly, I have a card to share! One of Joe's friends at work asked if we had any baby stuff to give his niece because she is close to delivering and they don't have anything. Her mom just recently died and it has been really hard on her (the girl is my age) plus she and her husband don't have the most *ideal* jobs. I was so happy to help! I sent a Pack and Play, bouncy seat, johnny jump up, high chair, and tons of clothes (thank goodness she is having a boy!) along with him. My sisters and friends have helped me out so much with passing clothes and toys down that it was nice to be able to do the same for someone else!
Anyhoo, I made her this card to send with the stuff and just told her a few things about what I sent. I swear, every time I need a baby card I ALWAYS reach for the Special Delivery TAC set! It is the cutest baby set I have ever seen! I just love this tiny baby in a pod! So, here is my easy peasy 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 card.
I have some exciting news in my neck of the woods!! I am now a proud member of the Queen Kat Designs design team! I am so excited to be working with Vicki and the rest of the QKD team! I am in love with my Inque Botique stamps and I had been so busy lately that it had been awhile since I had gotten to use them. Last week I made sure I did though and this is what came out of it. I really really love this card!!! I have no clue who I am going to send it to or maybe I won't. Maybe it will be one of those cards you like so much that you keep it on your scrap shelf or in your card basket just to look at it every once in a while to remind yourself that you can make really cool cards.
